The results of Geo4all Work Package 1 (WP1) are available (as of 27 October 2025). The research shows that LTG is technically feasible in the Netherlands, but that there is still a lack of knowledge about, among other things, well completion in loose rock formations and the production of water without entrained particles.

A number of Geo4all participants gave presentations at the EAGE Global Energy Transition conference GET 2024 on 5 November 2024. Jonah Poort (TNO) explained to the participants how important the structured collection and analysis of data from the geothermal plant helps to make it more efficient and reliable.

A joint presentation by Andrea Vondrak and Alexander van Noort explained the unique measurements set up by Ennatuurlijk Aardwarmte to not only model but actually measure the cold bubble in their reservoir.

A number of Geo4all participants gave presentations at the EAGE Global Energy Transition conference GET 2024 on 5 November 2024. In his presentation, Coen Leo of Teon discussed the opportunities for closed-loop systems using a new and fast drilling technique. A technique that makes it possible to drill deeper and thus harvest more heat from underground.
