On 15 July 2025, TEON and TNO – both partners in the Geo4all programme – organised a site visit at Museum Vosbergen in Eelde-Paterswolde, where two flush drilling operations were carried out to a depth of 490 metres for the installation of deep closed-loop geothermal systems. This pilot project brings together the typically separate worlds of deep and shallow drilling. The drilling is not only intended to produce sustainable energy, but also to provide valuable learning opportunities.

The visit attracted over 25 participants, including a journalist from De Ingenieur, who reported on the activities.

Once the systems are operational, an intensive monitoring programme will be launched at the site as part of Work Package 3 of the TKI Geo4all project. The project aims to generate valuable insights into the application of closed-loop geothermal systems.
