On June 13, 2024, the launch of the Geo4all innovation program was celebrated. During the members’ meeting of Geothermie Nederland in the Energy Cave, the official starting signal for the innovation program was given with the press of a start button. The Geo4all logo was also unveiled at the same time.
In four different workshops/knowledge sessions, the research themes were then explained by experts from both research institutes and the business sector. What is already known about these themes, what will be further explored in Geo4all, and what will it bring us?
Part of a broader approach
The geothermal sector in the Netherlands now has 15 years of practical experience. A lot of research has been conducted, and much knowledge has been gained. The innovation program allows for deeper exploration of several topics. Hans Bolscher, chairman of Geothermie Nederland, stated: “We consider the Geo4all innovation program an important building block for a larger strategic approach to innovation within the sector. This joint approach focuses on innovations to broaden the applicability of geothermal energy and make it available in more places for companies and citizens.”
